Licence terms
What you may do with LAN Share, and what Pro and business licences cover. In short: the free version is free for everyone, including at work; paid licences count computers.
- Free: anyone may use the free version, at home or at work, on any number of computers.
- Pro: one person, on up to 5 of their own computers.
- Seat packs: Pro for one organisation, on as many computers as the pack has seats (10, 25 or 50), forever.
- Team and Business subscriptions: the same, plus the organisation features and LAN Share Hub, for as long as the subscription runs.
- Mac App Store: all Pro features for personal use, for the Apple Account that bought it, under Apple's terms; no organisation features.
- Refunds: 14 days for Pro and seat packs; subscriptions can be cancelled any time (section 8).
1. Who grants the licence
LAN Share is made by SIA KV Cache (reg. no. 40203786599), Pērnavas iela 39-40, Rīga, LV-1009, Latvia (“we”). These terms apply to LAN Share downloaded from lanshare.io and to licence keys bought there. The Mac App Store version is licensed under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
2. The free version
You may install and use LAN Share without a licence key, for personal or commercial purposes, on any number of computers. The Pro features stay locked until a licence key is activated.
3. Pro licence
- A Pro licence is for one person. It may be active on up to 5 computers that this person uses, for personal or work purposes.
- It is a one-time purchase and does not expire.
4. Seat packs (Pro for organisations)
- A seat pack (10-seat, 25-seat or 50-seat pack) is a Pro licence for one organisation (a company, school, public body or other entity) and the people working for it. It is a one-time purchase and does not expire. It does not include the organisation features of the subscriptions (section 4a).
- It may be active on as many computers at the same time as it has seats. Each computer counts once, whoever uses it.
- The key may be deployed automatically (see LAN Share for business). Keep it within the organisation.
4a. Team and Business subscriptions
- A subscription is billed yearly for a number of computers and renews until cancelled.
- It includes the Pro features and the organisation features of its plan (central policy, automation, local API and LAN Share Hub, which the organisation runs on its own server; with Business also the audit log, the Hub's audit search and webhooks), and support by e-mail.
- You can cancel at any time. The subscription then runs until the end of the year already paid and is not renewed; there is no refund for the rest of that year, except as in section 8.
- When it ends, the computers fall back to the free version. Nothing on them is deleted; the policy is no longer applied.
5. Activations and moving
- A licence is activated per computer and bound to it; a copied licence file does not work on another computer.
- You may move a licence to another computer at any time by deactivating it on the old one.
- The app checks the licence online about once a week and keeps working offline for up to 30 days.
6. What you may not do
- Share, sell or publish a licence key, or use it on more computers than it covers.
- Get around the licence check, or remove copyright or licence notices.
7. Updates and support
Licences include updates published for versions 0.x and 1.x. Support is by e-mail at [email protected]: with a Business subscription we answer within one business day, otherwise usually within a few working days.
8. Refunds
- Pro and seat packs: if LAN Share does not work for you, write to us within 14 days of the purchase for a full refund. The key is then disabled.
- Subscriptions: within 14 days of the first purchase, write to us for a full refund and the subscription ends. After that, cancel at any time (section 4a); it runs to the end of the paid year.
- Mac App Store: refunds are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com).
- Nothing here limits your rights as a consumer under the law of your country.
9. Warranty and liability
LAN Share is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it is free of errors, and we are not liable for indirect damage or lost data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the licence. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Latvia. Questions: [email protected].
